Methodology
How WFH.team turns listed pay, candidate expectations, hiring restrictions, and benefits into comparable evidence.
Back to the explorer
Read the assumptions before the number.
The explorer is a decision aid. It cannot determine whether an employer will hire in your location, what taxes you owe, or what a specific benefits package is worth to you.
- Salary evidence
- Listed salary statistics use annualized USD minimums, maximums, or range midpoints from currently active confirmed remote jobs. Percentiles and benefits-adjusted medians require at least 10 matching salary-bearing jobs.
- Candidate expectations
- Candidate demand uses active WFH.team candidate profiles classified by stated role intent. Counts require at least 10 matching profiles. Median salary expectations require at least 25 and use the stated minimum target when available.
- Eligibility
- Worldwide, country, regional, and timezone fields are evaluated separately. Missing location data remains unknown and is included with a warning; an unstated restriction is never treated as worldwide eligibility.
- Contractor equivalent
- The comparison adds 25% to the selected annual employee target as a simple allowance for self-funded benefits, paid leave, and employment taxes. Actual tax and contract economics vary substantially by country and person.
- Benefits-adjusted compensation
- The estimate applies category-level assumptions only when a listing explicitly names health coverage, retirement, paid time off, bonus, equity, equipment, coworking, or learning support. The total estimated load is capped at 24%. Equity value, vesting, deductibles, and taxes are not modeled.
- Industry
- Structured industry enrichment is used when available. Otherwise a deterministic keyword classification groups job and employer text into broad industries. This field is useful for comparison but should not be treated as an official company classification.
- Competition
- Jobs per 100 candidates divides matching active job inventory by privacy-thresholded candidate profiles. It measures WFH.team inventory and audience composition, not the total global labor market or applicant count for a specific employer.
- History
- Role-level salary change comes from permanent WFH.team Remote Job Market snapshots. Snapshot sample sizes can change as sources add, revise, close, or reopen listings.
