Working closely with colleagues across Sales, Legal, Finance, Operations, Quality and other functions, you will provide practical contracting expertise, assess commercial and contractual risks and support the timely execution of agreements.

What you’ll do

  • Identify and assess contractual, commercial and operational risks and recommend appropriate solutions or mitigation measures.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on contractual matters, policies and processes.
  • Support complex and high-value negotiations while balancing commercial objectives with appropriate risk management.

  • Support requests for proposals (RFPs), tenders and other competitive bid processes.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers and other external partners.
  • Manage multiple contracts and priorities simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and business commitments are met.
  • Escalate significant contractual risks or issues appropriately and support their resolution.
  • Contribute to improvements in contracting processes, templates, systems and ways of working.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and support reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Where applicable, support agreements involving international and/or government customers and ensure compliance with relevant contractual and regulatory requirements.

About you

You will bring substantial experience in commercial contracting, ideally gained within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, life sciences or another highly regulated industry.

You will have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Life Sciences or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Significant experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of contract principles, commercial risk assessment and contract lifecycle management.
  • Experience managing complex or high-value agreements involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting RFPs, tenders and competitive bid processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex contractual matters clearly and pragmatically.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within demanding timelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time-management skills.
  • The confidence to maintain appropriate contractual positions while developing constructive and collaborative relationships.
  • The ability to work effectively within a global, cross-functional and matrix organisation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using contract management or related business systems.
  • Fluency in English.

Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, life sciences or Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO/CMO) environment would be advantageous.

Professional qualifications or certifications in contracts, procurement, commercial management or a related discipline would also be beneficial.

Additional advantage
