Senior Data Engineer at Cotiviti

Overview

At Cotiviti, we are custodians of data for our clients. Senior Data Engineers, using their technical experience in ETL processes, are vital to ensuring operational functions are occurring as expected. In their role, Senior Data Engineers will ensure the efficient execution of processes to manage data implementations, data production, data quality, and data security. They will serve as a senior resource in the support of all data management functions.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain and execute complex SQL queries for data management and data validation.
  • Demonstrates subject matter expertise in relation to data mapping, transformations, validations, and ingestion workflows.
  • Monitor data processes, analyze data trends and identify anomalies or issues.
  • Immediately report issues regarding quality of/or interruption of data processes following standard operating procedures
  • Perform production solutions and services configurations as needed.
  • Serve as a change agent to identify organizational improvements and make recommendations to improve business processes.
  • Create and maintain SOP documents.
  • Train and mentor new members of the team as needed.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and/or stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide recommendations for remediation.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Completes work as assigned.
  • Participate in customer testing, as needed, for new technology or changes to existing.
  • Provide after-hours or weekend support as needed.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work independently.
  • Adhere to all the industry level and organization level compliance rules and regulations to maintain data integrity.
  • Complete task assignments using department ticketing/productivity systems within assigned deadline.
  • Achieve organizational and individual goals as identified in performance reviews and goal setting exercises.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience with RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL, Vertica, etc.) and experience using SQL, PL/SQL or other data integration/ETL tools.
  • 5+ years of data analysis. Preferably in the Healthcare industry of enrollment, medical claims and/or pharmacy claims.
  • Familiar with programming language, operating systems, computer hardware platforms – not responsible in actual hardware/software development – such as:
  • Claude experience preferred
  • SQL Server Management Studio
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio)
  • XML
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite applications PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Experience with project management tools like JIRA, Bit Bucket and other Atlassian suite products.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects to meet scheduled deadlines and tight turnaround times.
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team environment.

Base compensation ranges from $101,000 to $140,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
