Regional Facilitator - Head Start - Remote/Southeast Alaska at Tlingit Haida

00 + DOE) **Note: Position has option to be remote within Southeast Alaska** Purpose: Coordinates, mentors, and supervises Head Start center staff in Southeast Alaska. Primary

include implementing and monitoring center compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, classroom quality and enrollment, conducting staff meetings, and building relationships with families and community organizations to meet the needs of children and families, in partnership with Component Coordinators and other agencies.

An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation: Analyze and interpret program guidelines, statues, agency policies and procedures with minimal supervision. Assist the Program Director in writing, preparing, and submitting grant applications for the program. May be responsible for preparing and submitting grants for specialty area. Will develop and maintain accurate, complete and confidential data in accordance with program

Support teachers in implementing place-based and culturally relevant classroom/family activities that honor the Indigenous communities’ worldview and seasonal lifeways. Have a compassionate approach to working with and adults, and effectively interact with all cultural, economic, social, and ethnic backgrounds. Monitor and evaluate system reports for trends, including CACFP site review, monthly reporting

and/or training needs for teachers Supervise and evaluate, up to 7 Lead Teachers / center staff, in meeting Head Start Performance Standards. Observes teaching staff to help prepare reports, primarily within the ChildPlus database, outlining center’s achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement. Conducts weekly meetings / site check-ins with Lead Teachers and Center Staff.

Maintain reliability in ECERS (Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale), and CLASS® (CLassroom Assessment Scoring System), in order to conduct ECERS and CLASS observations, and provide feedback to teachers regarding classroom environment(s) and adult-child interactions. Assist in hiring and conduct performance reviews, addressing staff conduct and performance issues.

Acts as a liaison to component coordinators and support staff in maintaining consistency in program operation, short and long-range planning, program options, monitoring and evaluation of compliance
